Ifti said that Fahad died pre-planned

Barta Reporter: In case of murder of Bangladesh Engineering University (BUET) student Abrar Fahad, BUET Branch BCL sub-service secretary Ifti Mosharraf made a confessional statement to the magistrate this morning. He was later ordered to be imprisoned. He gave the statement to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury on Thursday.

He has released the names of the other accused, including his own involvement in the statement of Abara’s murder in a confessional statement in court today. Inspector Wahiduzzaman, the investigating officer of the case, appealed to the accused before the deposition and sent the accused to court. He mentioned these in the petition.

However, the investigating officer said, “Iftikhar Mosharraf called Abar Fahad on October 9 in the morning to kill him from the room number 1 in the Bangla Hall in Buet Sher. The next day, inside the hall of room 28, Efahr and other defendants of the case, including Iftikha, were premeditated and beaten with various stumps and sticks on the body of Abar. He died as a result of the beating.

Ifti said that after confirming the death of Abar, the accused left the body on the second floor of the building. Later, some of the students were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Abar dead, said DB police inspector Wahiduzzaman.

Ifti Mosharraf, the number 7 accused in the murder of Fahad, is a third-year student of the Biomedical Engineering Department in BUET. He is a resident of Laxmikol village of Rajbari Sadar police station.

Meanwhile, the court granted five days remand for the accused including Ifti Mosharraf. Two days after the remand was completed, Ifti filed a confessional statement in court.

The other accused, remanded to the court, are BUET Branch Chhatra League general secretary Mehdi Hasan Russell, vice-president Muhtamim Fawad, information and research secretary Anik Sarkar, sports secretary Meftahul Islam Zion, texts and research editors Ishtiaq Munna, Munkhir Al Jameer, Jasir Al Jameer. Mujahidur Rahman and Mehdi Hasan Robin.

However, the court granted remand for five more days in the case on Wednesday. They are, Md. Moniruzzaman Monir, Akash Hossain and in-laws Arefin Rafat.

It is to be noted that the police recovered Abra Fahd’s body from the lower floor of Sher Bangla Hall in BUET last Sunday around 9pm. His father Barkat Ullah filed a case at Chawkbazar police station in Dhaka on Monday night. So far, three people have been arrested in the case. The DB has been tasked with investigating the case.
